5 Product Faves of 2014

Yes, I’ve been known to be a “Product Junkie”, however, I have put an action plan in place to resolve this. My solution has been to consolidate all of my hair products that my hair loves and organize my shelves with just these products. I remove those other products to a go-to bin for my new natural friends who want to try these products without making the purchase. Let’s face it some of these products can be costly. So I’m in other words, giving back. I’m providing you with a list of products that my hair tends to thrive on and has my hair looking it’s ultimate best…no matter the occasion.

Here they are!

#1 Jamaican Black Castor Oil (JBCO) by Tropic Isle Living (Oil)

I was first introduced to this product through forums and decided to order it from Amazon. When it arrived and I opened it the consistency of the oil was dark, thick and lovely, I was in Love! I’m always asked what one product that will thicken hair and boost natural hair growth. I always recommend JBCO. So, Yes my days and nights are incomplete without this product. JBCO is my hair staple.

#2 EcoStyler Gel w/Argan Oil (Styler)

This product was recommended to me and I was skeptical because I do not like gels at all. I find them to harden, flake and leave an unsightly mess on your hair causing you to wash it all out at the end of the day. I found EcoStyler at my local beauty supply store and it is available in a few different containers. I have the original white and the another with Argan oil, they both work amazing when you a attempting a pin-up without all the flaking and product build up on the hair. I simply wet my brush, put some on my hair and brush in an upwards fashion and yes, my hair stays. I set my styles with a hair mesh wrap and when I’m ready to go, I unwrap and Go!

#3 Softee Daily Hair Dress Mango Butter enriched with Shea (Hair Dress)

Can I tell you? This product smells soooooo good. When I’m at my local Dollar Tree store, I can’t help but to grab a few jars when they are available. Yes, it’s just $1. This product flies off the shelves so I ensure that I’m one of the lucky one’s to have a few on reserve. My scalp loves this stuff!

#4 Shea Moisture Raw Shea Butter Moisture Shampoo (Cleanser)

🙂 My Hair Loves this Sulfate-Free Shampoo, truly! When my hair is due for a wash, I grab this shampoo immediately.  I wet my hair and my hair immediately softens  with the first lather. I love that this product doesn’t rob all the necessary oils from my hair like some other natural hair products. The best value in my local area is at Target. I’ve secured this produce for $7.99 a bottle. I’m seeing it in stores up to $14.99…no can do at that price.

#5 Jarrow Formulas Extra Virgin Coconut Oil 100% Certified Organic (Moisturizer)

I first tried this product by snatching a Health & Beauty Groupon Goods deal that was offering 2-Jars in one shipment. I kept one and gave one to my mom, who I consult on her natural tresses. When opened this jar it was coconut oil, cold and hard pressed oil as it should be. I have cooked with it, food was amazing and I warmed this jar lightly on a potpourri warmer and it melted to a consistency were I could scoop, rub the oil in my palms and evenly distribute throughout my hair. I love the sheen that this product  provides my hair and the smell reminds me of back home, Jamaica!

I’ve taken all the fuss out of shopping these products online. I’ve hyperlinked most of the products, but you may be able to find most if not all in your local beauty supply store. Those of you on a budget may take a little while longer to search out the sales and bargains and go into price comparison mode at your local stores.
